CETEARYL ALCOHOL

Cetearyl alcohol is a fatty alcohol. It is used in cosmetics as an emollient. It thickens creams and stabilizes them. It softens and protects the skin without a greasy effect. It is accepted as organic. The CIR (Cosmetic Ingredient Review) in an annual report published in 2008, concluded that fatty alcohols are safe.

C14-22 ALCOHOL

It is an emulsifier of 100% plant-based origin with 14 to 22 carbons in the alkyl chain. It creates an ultra-soft and light texture, has excellent skin compatibility, and is easily recycled.

BENZYL ALCOHOL

Benzyl alcohol is one of the 26 allergens regulated by Europe. It is used as a preservative. It is naturally found present in many plants and fruits such as Jasmine, garlic, and Ylang-Ylang, or even apricot, almond, apple, and blackcurrant… Benzyl alcohol is accepted as Organic.

GLUCONOLACTONE

Gluconolactone is composed of a lactone nucleus which, under the hydrolytic action of moisture in the skin, releases gluconic acid. Gluconolactone has an excellent hygroscopic and moisturizing power thanks to the presence of numerous hydroxyl groups. Applied to the skin, it promotes exfoliation, modulating the keratinization process (stimulates skin renewal). It also has good antioxidant capacities and restoration of the damaged skin barrier.

GLYCERYL BEHENATE

Glyceryl behenate is a diester of behenic acid. It is primarily a fatty acid product. It can form a layer on the skin, which is waterproof. This layer protects the skin from the environment and does not allow moisture to escape. Applied to the skin, it feels and looks smoother.

C12-20 ALKYL GLUCOSIDE

C12-20 Alkyl Glucoside salt is useful for a skin conditioning treatment. It is formed by the condensation of C12-20 alcohols with glucose. It is an emulsifying agent that promotes the formation of mixtures between immiscible liquids by modifying the interfacial tension (water and oil), it reduces the surface tension of cosmetics and contributes to the uniform distribution of the product during its use.

XANTHAN GUM

Xanthan gum is used in cosmetics as an emulsion stabilizer. It is obtained by the fermentation of glucose with the bacterium Xanthomonas campestris. It is accepted as organic. A 2016 CIR (Cosmetic Ingredient Review) study of microbial polysaccharide gums, of which Xanthan gum is a part, concludes that the ingredient is safe.

PERFUME

The exclusive fragrance present in the whole Fedora Crew range comes from raw vegetable materials, the fragrance breaks down into 3 notes with a top note: lemon, mandarin, anise; heart note: pine, cedar, patchouli; base note: amber, vanilla. Very light and natural, the scent aims to be universal and is genderless.

SODIUM BENZOATE

Sodium Benzoate is used as an antifungal preservative in cosmetic products. It is naturally found in some fruits such as plums, prunes, or apples. It is approved as organic.

POTASSIUM SORBATE

Potassium sorbate is used in cosmetics as a preservative. It is often found in dairy products (E202). The potassium salt of sorbic acid exists naturally in the Sorbier. It is approved as organic.

Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis) is used in cosmetics for its cooling effects and anti-inflammatory properties, it reduces itching, and preserves hydration. SODIUM HYALURONATE

Sodium hyaluronate is the salt of hyaluronic acid. This active ingredient is appreciated for its moisturizing and plumping action on the skin. It is a natural component of connective tissue. It easily penetrates the epidermis and is then able to bind a large amount of water. In a cosmetic, it is a powerful humectant which makes it the moisturizing product of choice for the skin, it is approved as organic

DEHYDROACETIC ACID

Dehydroacetic acid is used in cosmetics as a preservative for its fungicidal and bactericidal actions. It is used under the name E265 in food. As it is recyclable, this product does not pose a problem for the environment and the health risks remain very low. Dehydroacetic acid is approved as organic.

LIMONENE, LINALOOL

They are perfume agents that play a crucial role in cosmetics. Beyond the fruity or floral scents, terpenes are renowned for their antiseptic and antiviral properties. These extremely abundant natural agents are omnipresent in essential oils, they are present as small traces in our products.

CITRIC ACID

Citric acid is one of the main active ingredients of lemon. It is often used to balance the too-basic pH of cosmetic products.

TOCOPHEROL

The term tocopherol brings together different derivations of vitamin E. It acts as a powerful antioxidant, which protects cells. It provides high protection against oxidation. Tocopherol binds moisture in the stratum corneum and renews cells, it is anti-inflammatory and reduces skin damage caused by UV rays. Even in large amounts, tocopherol is non-irritating and very well tolerated by the skin.

SODIUM HYDROXIDE

It is used to make sodium salts and to neutralize acids. In the cosmetic field, it is accepted as organic and does not pose any issue under the law’s conditions. 

CALCIUM GLUCONATE

Calcium gluconate is used in cosmetics as a binder and humectant. In medicines, it is used for certain pathologies linked to calcium deficiency.
